On saturday 19th Decembre 2009 Angelo, Dario and Gabriele (Rocking Fingers - DS Tribute band from Puglia) joined this event playing and jamming with friends AlchemyBand (DS Tribute band from Calabria), Marco Caviglia (guitarist of Solid Rock- DS Tribute band from Roma), Tony LoBiondo (drummer of The Alchemists - DS Tribute band from Roma) @ the venue "Peccato di Gola"  in Cotronei (Italy).

(15.05.09) - Rocking Fingers have been selected amongst many Italian and European Dire Straits Tribute Bands to play at the 2009 edition of the Festival of Gistel !
On 3rd December 2008 the organizer called Angelo on the cell phone after he watched the band's videos on YouTube and he was so impressed by the quality of the performance that he decided to invite Rocking Fingers as "the Dire Straits from Italy".
In the following months Angelo and the Festival's organization have been preparing an agreement about band performance contract, tech rider, travel, flights, etc.
Now that everything is officially confirmed we are proud to announce this very special event on our website and on the most important forums of Dire Straits/Mark Knopfler fans !
See you in Belgium !!!

07.05.08 - 2nd MEETING OF dIRE sTRAITS FANS IN PUGLIA: ROCKING FINGERS & ALCHEMYBAND
 

On Saturday 3rd May 2008 we spent a wonderful evening at the Bar della Torre in Leverano (Lecce) full of music and friendship with guests Ivan Tedesco (guitar and vocals) and Santino Stumpo (rhythm guitar) of AlchemyBand, Dire Straits tribute band from Calabria and many friends coming from several places of Puglia!

 16.07.07 - PAOLO BONFANTI BAND & ANGELO FUMAROLA LIVE

A very special event: on sunday  8th July 2007 Angelo played as a guest with the Paolo Bonfanti Band (info:www.paolobonfanti.com) at a concert held in Paveto (Genova), Italy, on the occasion of a "Western Meeting".
The concert was fantastic and featured amazing and inspired guitar duets by Angelo and Paolo!
Angelo went on stage in the middle part of the show to play and sing two Dire Straits' classics "Setting Me Up", "Six Blade Knife" and Paolo Bonfanti's "Blues Don't Pay" then he left the stage and returned on it for the encores: two other Bonfanti's songs, the rockabilly "Two Steps Away From The Blues" and the rock'n'roll "I'm Just Tryin".

Playing live with a exceptional and great person like Paolo Bonfanti is like a dream coming true: he has always been my favourite rocking-blues guitar player in Italy, many years ago before I met him I studied his book "Method for Country-Rock Guitar" written with the great acoustic guitarist Beppe Gambetta.
The first time I saw Paolo in concert was at a pub near Lecce in 1999, after that I kept in contact with him, I listened to his cd's and in February 2007 I met him again in Velletri (Rome) when we, me and my band Rocking Fingers and he as a solo guest,joined the benefit concert "Mark Knopfler Children Aid" in aim of Amnesty International, with the presence of other bands and the special guest Chris White (Dire Straits' sax).
It's been fantastic to receive appreciations about my guitar playing from Paolo and now having the opportunity to play a blues jam with him is really a great honour.

22.02.07 - CHRIS WHITE IN ITALY : MARK KNOPFLER FANS CHILDREN AID, LIVE CONCERT FOR AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL @ Totem Village, Velletri (Rome) - 16th and 17th February 2007

Rocking Fingers took part in this fantastic event, two unforgettable days full of friendship, love, happiness and great music!

A number of Italian Dire Straits/Mark Knopfler Tribute Bands (www.dire-straits.it) got together to organise two fabulous charity concerts in aid of Invisible and Child Soldier, two children's charities run by Amnesty International.
The event took place on Friday 16th and Saturday 17th February 2007 at the Totem Village (www.totemvillage.it) in Velletri (Rome).

- Solid Rock (Italian DS & MK tribute band from Rome feat. Marco Caviglia on guitar & vocals)
- Rocking Fingers (Italian DS & MK tribute band from Puglia feat. Angelo Fumarola on guitar & vocals)
- Alchemy Band (Italian DS & MK tribute band from Calabria feat. Ivan Tedesco on guitar & vocals)

The very special guest was Chris White (Dire Straits sax player).

The other guests were:
- Terry Kilburn  (Mark Knopfler Management)
- Paolo Bonfanti (Italian blues guitarist)
- Alex Valle (Italian pedal steel player)

A new guitar enters Rocking Fingers: Johnson JM-998-S Sandblast Hawaiian which is a wonderful imitation of Mark Knopfler's famous National Style O seen on the cover of the album "Brothers In Arms" and used live by Mark himself on several songs!
Bought on line by Gabriele at a very discounted price, this guitar is a must for every Knopfer fan!

Update: we have finally installed a professional Fishman Resophonic Active pickup (bluegrass series), now the guitar sounds great!

28.01.06 - SPECIAL LIVE EVENT: "PRIVATE INVESTIGATIONS PROMO TOUR" - ROCKING FINGERS & SOLID ROCK live on stage in Adelfia (Bari) @ PalaSport, 12 Feb 2006

For the first time Rocking Fingers and Solid Rock (the Official Dire Straits & Mark Knopfler tribute band from Rome) will share the stage for a very special performance since both bands are well known probably as the most appreciated tribute bands in Italy, as well as their lead guitarists are.....so this is one of the most awaited live event from many DS&MK fans, that you can't miss!
This is the final concert of the Italian fans' Promo Tour for the brand new compilation "Private Investigations, The Best Of Dire Straits & Mark Knopfler" released worldwide on 7th November 2005.
The show will take place at the PalaSport of Adelfia with free admittance.
Rocking Fingers will do an opening act playing a set-list of almost 1 hour before the Solid Rock concert, the main event, and there will be also duets by the lead guitarists Angelo Fumarola (from Rocking Fingers) & Marco Caviglia (from Solid Rock), who are long time friends since 1995 and they hold each other in great esteem.
The event is supported by the Mark Knopfler Official News WebSite by Terry Kilburn & MK management.
